Shannon Hughes

Originally from Chicago, Shannon joined Ritsema Law at the Denver office in 2021. Her practice focuses on insurance carrier defense in worker compensation claims. Prior to joining Ritsema Law, Shannon clerked for the Honorable Craig R. Welling on the Colorado Court of Appeals and was an Environmental Lawyer for the non-profit organization, WildEarth Guardians.

Shannon draws on her experience in energy litigation to deliver concise explanations of highly-technical issues to clients. She also draws on her experience in appellate law to produce excellent writing and legal analysis.

Outside of the office, Shannon can be found hiking in the backcountry with her dogs, Bean and Sprout, camping, exploring new vegan recipes, and seeing live music with her husband, Ty.
