About

Alana joined Ritsema Law in 2010 and practices primarily in the field of workers’ compensation defense. Alana creates a tailored approach for her clients’ legal needs by applying innovative reasoning to resolve complex legal issues and providing effective solutions. She is a partner with the firm and has been practicing workers’ compensation defense since 2004. Before moving to Colorado, Ms. McKenna practiced workers’ compensation defense, medical malpractice defense, and premises liability defense with Walton Lantaff Schroeder Carson in Miami, Florida. Alana graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in political science from West Virginia University in 2001. She received her law degree in 2004 from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. During law school, Alana worked as a law clerk for in-house counsel at BellSouth and the American Cancer Society. She is a member of the Florida and Colorado Bar Associations and is admitted in the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. Alana is also licensed to practice in Florida and handles Florida workers’ compensation claims for Ritsema Law.

In her spare time, Alana loves spending time with her husband Scott, her two young sons Dylan and Simon, and their mini Aussie Bowie. She loves heading outdoors for hiking, skiing, and paddle boarding, watching her boys play sports, traveling (especially to beaches), and seeing live music.
